More than 2,200 nabbed over curfew violations

A total of 2,262 curfew violators have been taken into custody so far since the curfew was re-imposed at 6.00 p.m. on Friday (20), says the Police Spokesman.

As of yesterday, the tally of the arrested curfew violators stood at 1,589.

Police said that a majority of the arrests were for loitering along the roads while people have also been arrested over incidents of gathering and consuming alcohol, travelling by vehicle on the roads, keeping restaurants open, behaving in an unruly manner on the roads while intoxicated and engaging in trading.
